In Their Words

Maximilian Günther, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing

“I’m really satisfied with how we’ve started this season, and I can’t wait to start running again in São Paulo. Scoring top 10 finishes on a consistent basis is extremely important in Formula E, and by maximising each opportunity we’ve had, that’s exactly what we’ve been able to do so far this season. The dynamic, morale, and spirit in the team right now is high, and I think we’re in quite a competitive position with our package. I liked racing in São Paulo in Season 9, and I felt good from the very first lap I did. I think we’re in store for an exciting race this weekend, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do.”

Jehan Daruvala, Driver, Maserati MSG Racing

“I’m looking forward to racing in Brazil, especially after the break we’ve had since Diriyah. As the only rookie on the grid in Season 10, I think the gap we’ve had between races hasn’t been ideal, simply because I want to be driving the car as often as I can so I can continue to gain more experience. But it’s been good to rest up a little bit and to spend time with family, especially before we go into quite an intense run of races. The season so far has been about learning for me, and I’m excited to continue that journey. I had a promising weekend in Diriyah and came close to scoring my first points in Formula E, so hopefully we’ll be able to build on that this weekend.”

Cyril Blais, Chief Engineer, Maserati MSG Racing

“We’ve learned a lot so far this season, and looking back on the first three races, it’s clear to see that we’ve taken some key steps forward. We took advantage of the break between Diriyah and São Paulo to really focus on how we can maintain our current performance trajectory, and by determining what went well and identifying where we can improve, we’ve been implement some new solutions. I think momentum is in our favour at this stage of the year, and with a shared outlook and hunger for success across the team, we’re continually driving forward. In Season 9 we saw that our weekend in São Paulo was a key turning point for us as a team, so we’re very excited to race there again, especially with our current knowledge of Gen3 Formula E and our package. As always, we’ll be taking the weekend session-by-session, but if we can maximise our track time in practice and execute qualifying well, I think we could be in with the chance of having a very memorable race.”

Giovanni Sgro, Head of Maserati Corse

“After a long break we are eager to race again and return for the second year to São Paulo, a challenging and spectacular racetrack. This last month has been intense for the whole team, focused on improving and developing the car in order to be as competitive as possible for the rest of the season, especially with the Italian round just around the corner. We are determined to resume from where we left after a good start of the season, which saw us battle and score important points in the top ten. We are pleased, but there is always room for improvement, and this is one of our priorities starting from Brazil. Both Max and Jehan have already shown that they are hungry and ready to fight at the front of the grid. Having built our history on the track, we can't be away from the adrenaline for too long.”
